As an abstract process artist, zen Sutherland works in a variety of mediums simultaneously, from photography to poetry, traditional painting to graffiti, interactive art to guerilla art.One of is latest project focuses on electronics and the reworking of children’s toys, removing the manufactured circuitry and replacing it with his own electronics to allow the toys to do surprising or mysterious things unintended by design.

Kelsey Simmons

Kelsey Simmons is a real estate broker at Keller Williams who is also a Program Coordinator at a local non-profit called OpenDoors of Asheville. She is a native to Asheville, NC and enjoys living in the mountains. After returning back home from graduating UNCC, she decided to move back to her home town and reinvest in her community by strengthening the black community in Asheville. Kelsey is a advocate for social equity within the community to implement generational wealth and policy change.

I am a native of Old Fort, NC lived here all my life. I worked in manufacturing for 31yrs. until the day I decided that I wanted to do something else. People on the Move Old Fort (POTMOF) started in October 2019 with me being the Project Consultant. We trying to bring the Historical Black communities together to make a more equitable inclusive Old Fort.

 

Mickey Snowdon

Mickey is a recent graduate of UNC Asheville's Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences Program where he studied Environmental and Cultural Sustainability. Mickey has worked in communications, marketing, and the climate sector, and is passionate about blending these fields to communicate sustainability. lydia see (she/they/y’all) is a multidisciplinary practitioner, educator, and curator of art + archives who is passionate about the uses of art for social justice.
lydia is founder and director of Engaging Collections, a residency + publication at the intersections of equity + art with libraries, archives, and special collections. As a serial collaborator and compulsive community builder, lydia believes in the power of cultural access to transform lives.

 

Mark Dytham, MBE

Mark studied architecture at The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and the Royal College of Art in London. In 1989 he traveled with business partner Astrid Klein to Tokyo, and together they found work with Pritzker Prize Laurette Toyo Ito. They established Klein Dytham architecture (KDa) in Tokyo, in 1992 working freely across disciplines including architecture, interiors, furniture, installations and events.

Today KDa is a multi-lingual office with an international reputation and a high-profile client list including Virgin Atlantic, Bloomberg, Sony and Google. KDa’s projects have received many accolades including awards from D&AD, World Architecture Festival, Wallpaper*, Business Week, Architectural Review and they have won the prestigious Design for Asia Award three times.In 2003 Mark and Astrid devised PechaKucha Night as an event for Tokyo designers to meet and share their work – it has now grown into an international network with events running in over 1,250 cities around the globe, inspiring creatives worldwide.

Mark is a frequent guest speaker at international design events, has taught at universities in Japan and beyond and in 2000 was awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) for services to British Design in Japan.
